Paytm has rolled out a new feature named 'Hide Payment’, enabling users to manage the visibility of specific transactions in their payment history. The feature is now active for all users on the latest version of the Paytm mobile application.
The newly introduced tool allows selective concealment of payments, which can later be unhidden when necessary. According to Paytm, the update gives users the flexibility to remove certain transactions from plain view without deleting them, offering more control over their payment records.
This feature is expected to serve various user needs, such as maintaining privacy over medical purchases, surprise gifts, or personal expenditures that individuals may wish to keep confidential. It also ensures that hidden transactions remain securely stored, accessible only through verification methods such as a PIN or biometric ID.
Steps to Hide a Payment on Paytm:
1. Launch the Paytm app and navigate to Balance & History.
2. Find the transaction you want to conceal and swipe left.
3. Tap the ‘Hide’ option.
4. Confirm by selecting ‘Yes’.
The selected payment will no longer appear in the visible transaction history.
To Unhide a Transaction:
1. Open Paytm and go to Balance & History.
2. Tap the three-dot menu and select ‘View Hidden Payments’.
3. Authenticate using your PIN or biometrics.
4. Swipe left on the hidden transaction and tap ‘Unhide’.
The transaction will reappear in the payment history.
Paytm stated the feature was developed based on user feedback highlighting the need for discretionary control over certain financial activities.
